The Sun has just entered into Gate 26: The Taming Power of the Great (The Egoist)
This is an ego week. Can you feel it? A great time to bring awareness to how you are navigating the material circumstances of your life, and lean into deconditioning around money and worth.
Thanksgiving week we had the Sun in Gate 9 which is called the Taming Power of the Small- this was all about the satisfaction of working with details.
Gate 26 does not get off on taming these small details, it is Taming Power of the GREAT! The Great is life, and memory. Gate 26 successfully manipulates and tames this wild life so that you have the resources you need. It manipulates memory in order to support the success and wellbeing of itself and its tribe.
It says, “no, it didn’t happen like you remember it. It wasn’t a failure. It was awesome. It’s going to keep being awesome. Let’s keep selling it”
Gate 26 is the trickster. It’s the archetypal salesperson- also known as the archetypal bullshitter
In the ego center, this is the art of persuasion, manipulation and influence. It knows how to charm and captivate you, and it is always looking to maximize its work to rest ratio. It does not want to grind all day; it wants to make a big sale and then relax.
Gate 26 exaggerates, and people like it. People tend to feel better about buying something when they’ve been exaggerated to: “this is the best coaching program in the world, new and improved, nothing else like this, you’re making history by participating” or “This is the best relationship, our love is unparalleled, this is it”
Nobody loves to hear “This is slightly above mediocre, but pragmatically speaking you don’t have unlimited time and it probably makes more sense for you to settle for this instead of exerting your energy towards trying to find something better”
And then, the Earth is in Gate 45: Gathering Together (The Gatherer)
“The natural and generally beneficial attraction of like forces”
Gate 45 is the tribal ruler. It is the King/Queen who says “I have”. It loves to put money to work, in service to higher principles by gathering its people together, feeding them and educating them. It can be very generous with its resources, but it also demands the final say.
If you are rooted in your Strategy & Authority, this week may bring opportunities for you to step into your leadership, practice delegating, creatively improve your finances and better support your tribe.
But, be careful about the pressure to make exaggerated claims and promises, or overvalue material wealth at the expense of true alignment + abundance. You may also confront the temptation to overspend, employ deceitful/dishonest tactics to get what you think you want, or create unnecessary chaos by neglecting important tasks that you believe are beneath you.
