Common objections to Human Design (and my rebuttals)
Objection: I don’t want to be put in a box!
You are a complex and multidimensional creature, and your chart will reflect this. You expand far beyond anything a Human Design chart could ever fully explain. You are a beautiful infinite mystery full of brilliant contradictions.
Human Design does not negate any of this- it simply provides insight into why you are the way you are, and how to operate at a higher level as a more authentic version of yourself. Your chart will present you with simple + practical tools to experiment with, but it does not simplify you as a human.
Objection: I don’t believe in this!
Great! Ra, the systems original messenger, would always say “Don’t believe me and don’t trust me”
The intention is not for you to blindly follow the dictates of this knowledge- it’s intended as an experiment. Human Design doesn’t tell you who you are, it assists you in connecting to your own inner knowing. If you have sacral authority and I tell you something about yourself in a reading, or make a suggestion, and your gut says “NO” ... AWESOME! You are your own authority. Human Design is all about learning to trust yourself. Take what works, and leave the rest.
Objection: I resonate with another type more than my own!
Of the hundreds, maybe thousands of charts I’ve investigated, I’ve never encountered a chart that doesn’t fit the individual. Your type is your type. If you are having difficulty seeing and accepting this, that is a sign that experimenting with Human Design could completely change your life, and open you up to a new world of pleasure, alignment and flow you never knew was possible. If you resonate more with another type, that’s your conditioning speaking.
For example, I see Generators who cannot believe they’re Generators because they do not feel like they have consistent energy. The simple explanation for this is that you haven’t been honoring your responses, and thus haven’t been using your energy correctly. I see so many types who think they’re Manifestors. This is because while we live in a Generator world, we are all conditioned to idealize the Manifestor way of being by striving for impact, and trying to initiate. It’s hard to release a fantasy you’ve been programmed to chase after your entire life!
Objection: I don’t think my birth time determines anything
Skilled vedic astrologers offer a service called birth time rectification, where they can ask you questions about events in your life and then accurately pinpoint your time of birth down to the minute, sometimes even the second. This can be verified and proven. There’s a scientific explanation to how this imprinting occurs, but it doesn’t feel particularly helpful for me to explain it. If you need to hear this in order to soften your mind’s resistance, you can google: “neutrino imprinting human design”.
Objection: This seems like an overgeneralization
If you think this, you’re simply not paying attention or you haven’t ever learned from a skilled practitioner. These charts differ A LOT. Yes of course, there will be some similarities. But my lived experience based on 4+ years of study and experimentation is that these charts are extremely precise and they differ greatly. This is especially apparent when I lead group workshops, where participants get to hear the conversations I have with others and how different each reading is.
Objection: I am limitless and I can do anything I set my mind to
If that’s working for you, great! I won’t interfere. But if you know on some level that there are legitimate mechanical limitations to being in a human body, and you’re able to admit that you haven’t actually been successful in trying to manifest everything your mind wants- perhaps you will be open to experimenting with a different paradigm
I’m always quoting gate 60: “The acceptance of limitation is the first step in transcendence”. If you desire to taste true transcendence in this life, Human Design might be a helpful ally.
