Sun in Gate 55: Abundance (Spirit), Earth in Gate 59: Dispersion (Sexuality)
The Sun has recently entered into Gate 55: Abundance (Spirit).
In the Emotional Center, Gate 55 is the moodiest gate in the Bodygraph. This is the emotional chemistry of individuality, highly creative and prone to bouts of melancholy. It emits an emotional frequency that is passionate and romantic with intense highs and deep lows, subject to sudden spikes or drops in its mood. It loves music.
Another defining characteristic of Gate 55 is its fickleness and indecisiveness. It may sound like: “I don’t know what I’m in the mood for. Oh, now I know. Wait, never mind, I don’t want that. Actually, maybe I do”
And as a Love Gate, this is the gate of eternally indecisive love. One moment it loves you, the next it hates you. It knows and then it doesn’t, and then it knows again- but it’s still not completely sure how it feels.
Gate 55 craves fullness and sometimes struggles with emptiness. When it feels empty, it can be vulnerable to trying to escape this feeling and numb its sadness through overindulgence- this might take the form of overeating, overspending, substance abuse, or reckless intimacy.
The key is learning to maintain your connection to spirit regardless of your mood and to find the pleasure and beauty in the lows as well as the highs. Your full emotional range is integral to your ability to access the depths of your creative potential.
Another theme here is the necessity of honoring the mood. Do not force yourself to eat, make love, or socialize when you’re not in the mood. Naturally, this requires experimentation and learning to tell the difference between what it feels like when you are authentically not in the mood, versus what it feels like to have resistance.
“Abundance is strictly a question of spirit”
Ultimately, abundance is not a physical state, it’s emotional. It’s not about what you have, it’s about how you feel about what you have. It is a quality of creativity that enlivens your spirit and transforms your life into the most epic romance. It is a uniqueness that protects against the shadows of jealousy and comparison.
The first line (describes the foundation of a Gate) is called Cooperation.
“The expansion of activity in cooperation with powerful forces through principled actions that guarantee continued support and engender prosperity.”
Gate 55 is relational in nature; true abundance comes from relationships. This is about creating bonds that result in mutual expansion, empowerment and success. When you cooperate with reality instead of fighting it, form relationships rooted in the principles of authenticity and truth versus obligation and conditioning, you will always feel supported and prosperous.
And then we have the Earth in Gate 59: Dispersion (Sexuality).
“The ability to break down barriers to achieve union”
In the Sacral Center, this is the power to penetrate through barriers to intimacy in order to create the optimal conditions for conception. Sometimes this literally means making babies, but this can also be about creating a relational environment that is a fertile ground for the birth of new ideas and creative ventures.
When we join forces in union, this isn’t just combining my resources with yours- by merging our resources and strengths, they multiply and shapeshift. This is the possibility of something totally new coming into existence, a feeling of abundance beyond anything we could have created as individuals.
What to do?
Together, Gates 55 and 59 color our experiences this week with themes of romance, moodiness, spirit, sexuality and creative power. This is a time to courageously confront what’s in the way of our capacity for emotional intimacy and our ability to form abundantly nourishing, satisfying, successful and pleasurable relationships.
If we hope to access the profound intimacy we crave (and the abundance inevitably results from this) in our relationships with ourselves and others, this requires the maturity to meet our shadows and stay present through the lows.
Whenever we have an emotional transit, we have the risk of impulsivity. By staying centered in your Strategy & Authority, you protect yourself from creating unnecessary emotional chaos in your intimate life.

What are my specific patterns of numbing and avoidance?
What is in the way of me having the intimacy and abundance I desire?
