Sun in Gate 54: Marrying Maiden (Drive), Earth in Gate 53: Development (Beginnings)

This upcoming week, you might notice an amplified ambition in yourself and others, and a heightened awareness of hierarchical dynamics in relationships. 

The sun has just entered into Gate 54: Marrying Maiden (Drive)

In the root center, this is the motivation to climb the ladder and improve the material circumstances of your life. 

“Interaction in it’s mundane social context but also one’s mystical and cosmic relationships”

This is success at its most mundane and mystical.

The ability to successfully navigate the material plane is no less “spiritual” than the ability to navigate mystical planes and cosmic portals. 

The name “Marrying Maiden” comes from the I’Ching and it is a product of its patriarchal time and context, of course- but Ra kept it for a reason. 

In the not-self, Gate 54 can produce inauthentic/purely transactional relational dynamics. This is using others to get ahead and discarding them when your mind no longer perceives them to be of use to you.  The not-self gate 54 might be dishonest about its motives, or use attraction/sexuality in order to manipulate. It does not know any better; it does not see another way.

In the true self, ambition isn’t about what we can extract from one another; it’s about how we can be in relationship with one another in a manner that is mutually supportive.

We create win-win situations where everyone’s needs are met and everyone feels successful. Tribal circuitry is all about support. This is integrity and loyalty in navigating one’s relations. 

54.4: Enlightenment/Endarkenment 

This is the most mystical line in the entire Rave I’Ching. This is about the “fuel for transformation at its purest level”, personal transformation that only comes from supporting the transformation of your community and of the totality. Your success is intertwined with the success of others.

Not everybody has the potential to succeed- this is simply the reality of the material plane. By following your strategy & authority, you refrain from wasting your energy on relationships that hold you back and hinder your ambition. You instead align yourself with allies who do carry the potential for success, and together you transform. 

And then we have the earth in Gate 53: Development (Beginnings) 

Yay, another root gate. More pressure

Gate 53 brings the fuel needed to begin a new cyclical process of maturation, based on the foundation of the old. 

“Development as a structured progression that is both steadfast and enduring”

So again, this is a lot of pressure. This may feel enjoyably motivating, or you might encounter stress or depression about your inability to begin something new, feeling stuck in the current cycle you’re in.

If you are operating correctly as yourself, this week might be a fruitful time for successful collaboration and mutual support. Perhaps new beginnings!

If your mind is running your life, you may find yourself taking action based on this ambition that doesn’t actually belong to you, trying to force new beginnings as a futile waste of energy. You may fall into the trap of inauthentic, transactional relational dynamics. 

My suggestion is the same as always: Follow your strategy & authority. This is how you free yourself from pressures that don’t belong to you, and surrender to the natural timing and unfolding of your life. Best of luck out there!
