Sun in Gate 13: Fellowship of Man (The Listener), Earth in Gate 7: Army (The Role of Self in Interaction)
The Sun has just entered into Gate 13: Fellowship of Man (The Listener).
And with this, we have transitioned out of the Quarter of Mutation (Purpose Fulfilled Through Transformation) and into the Quarter of Initiation (Purpose Fulfilled Through Mind).
As we have been traveling through the Quarter of Mutation over the past 4 months, we have been collectively moving through a season characterized by change, transformation and endings, the potential for death and rebirth.
From now until May 3, the emphasis shifts to conceptualizing and processing the transformation we’ve experienced in last year’s cycle, training the mind, sharpening the intellect, cultivating and refining our own unique mental awareness that we can share with others.
Gate 13 is the harmonic to Gate 33 (which we experienced last week, along with Gate 19). Last week carried a subtle energy of privately contemplating sensitive matters and reflecting upon the year that came to a close on January 21 (The Rave New Year, not the Gregorian Calendar new year),
As we enter into a new cycle and luxuriate in the energy of new beginnings, Gate 13 invites us to share our reflections and takeaways from the previous cycle with one another and listen deeply so that we can learn from each other’s experiential discoveries, wisdom gained, and lessons learned.
Gate 13 is a natural confidante. If this gate is activated in your chart, you are someone who people feel comfortable opening up to and sharing their secrets and stories with. People may often say to you, “I don’t know why I’m telling you this”.
“Universal ideas and values in an ordered framework which inspires humanistic cooperation”
Gate 13 stores lessons learned from experience, both your own and others, with a respect for the value of privacy and an attunement to the appropriate time and space to share your wisdom. It knows how to effectively contribute to our collective sensemaking process without oversharing and crossing your own boundaries, or violating the confidentiality of others.
We don’t have to start from scratch- we can learn from the past and build upon the foundation of our collective memory.
Gate 13 bears witness to the universality of human experience- we all experience love and loss, dreams and disappointment, hope and pain- and then finds meaning in these shared experiences, ultimately organizing our sense of meaning into ideas and values that inspire us towards empathy and cooperation, and away from our individualistic tendencies.
“The point of convergence. By design, the need for leadership to guide and order society”
And then we have the earth in Gate 7: The Army (The Role of Self in Interaction)
While Gate 13 remembers the past, Gate 7 is always looking towards the future, with the ability to see which patterns need to be corrected in order to improve the health of our society.
Gate 7 is a visionary leader who understands the logic of greater patterns and trends and can see where they are taking us. Without the harmonic Gate 31, Gate 7 may not serve as the public figurehead or face of an organization, but may act as the power behind the throne whose vision ultimately catalyzes a new direction.
This week, the transits are pulling our attention towards our direction as a collective, inviting us to reflect on what we’ve learned in the past, and to look forward into the future and try to visualize where we are headed
A potential challenge is: these transits have the potential to bring us into our minds where we become hooked on trying to make sense of the human experience and solve the big problems we face as a species, which can distract us from our ability to operate as ourselves in the present moment.
These are both collective gates- the collective only values individual freedom to the extent that it serves the greater whole. This is deeply moralistic, with the risk of pulling us away from our own true direction and pushing us towards what we’ve been conditioned to think is the right direction.
You may find that others have a lot to share with you this week about their experiences and political perspectives. You may also observe yourself sharing more than usual.
If you are operating from your conditioning, you might find yourself exhausted listening to people who actually don’t have much value to share with you, or divulging secrets to the wrong people in the wrong timing.
If you are allowing your mind to make your decisions for you, you might give your authority over to a political platform that may not actually be true for you to align yourself with, instead of honoring your own truth.
What to do?
Following your Strategy & Authority will allow you to discern who is worth listening to, and also who you can trust to share your secrets with and when. When you are operating correctly as yourself, others will provide you with the secret wisdom and intel you need in order to refine your vision and step into the full potential of your unique leadership style.
Here are some prompts for journaling or contemplation:
At this transitional moment, what themes/trends have I been noticing as I listen to others share about their experiences and reflect upon my own?
Who looks to me as a leader? Am I listening to them and allowing their needs to inform my vision, or am I trying to appeal to those who are not inviting my leadership/trying to impose my own personal agenda on those I lead?
What is the relationship between listening and leading?
